Membership FAQ
Who can apply for membership? Richmond-based crafty business owners that embody the DIY spirit and whose work blends well with our current members.
What are the benefits of membership? If selected, you will become part of a supportive, tightly knit group of like-minded crafters and tap into group resources on business issues, craft mediums, marketing strategies, etc. You will have the opportunity to participate in all group-wide activities, including craft shows, gallery shows, group booths, collective advertising and more. You will also have a rad time.
What are the responsibilities of membership? Each RCM member is expected to contribute time to group events and is generally assigned a specific job which fits their skill set. Participation in our online planning & discussion forum is required, as well as attendence at our monthly meetings. Yearly dues are $50 per business. Dues cover web hosting, printing and other group expenses.
What do you look for in an applicant? We look for a number of things: fresh, interesting work that has an indie vibe, people with skills that will benefit the group, crafters who are active in the Richmond craft scene, etc.
Generally, we admit 1 to 2 new members every 6 months. So, if you have applied previously and are still interested, we do ask that you resubmit an application.
