Representatives of four major craft families gathered to discuss business in the summer of 2005. There was much to talk about. The powers that be had made things difficult for organized craft in Richmond, Virginia. A lack of networking outlets for independent business owners and a public under the spell of mass production led these four to forge a partnership. They would become known as the Richmond Craft Mafia…

Inspired by our Austin namesake, the Richmond Craft Mafia is a small, supportive group of like-minded, crafty business people. In addition to being a networking group, we provide information, promotional and marketing opportunities for other independent crafty business owners.

Each year we put on two juried shows, Spring Bada-Bing and Handmade Holiday, which bring great indie craft from our region (and beyond!) to Richmond shoppers.

Thanks to Howard Kistler for our lovely photos.
